The following open letter from AT&T Chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson, which is running in media outlets across the country today, reiterates AT&T’s support for the principles of an open internet and calls on Congress to create an Internet Bill of Rights for consumers:
Randall
You have mislead the FCC, Congress, and the American people about the negative impacts on investment with net neutrality. There were none and you know it, otherwise you and the CFO for AT&T just committed a felony by lying to the SEC and your stockholders (which I am one) in your financial reports.
The proposal is complete junk. The ISPs like at&t should be heavily regulated because you can’t be trusted to do the right thing. Like today you don’t count your own video services against my data cap but you do for Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. I guess net neutrality has a different meaning when you are padding your companies bottom line at your customers expense. The websites that have th ereal innovation on the internet don’t need regulation, they are not selling our privacy to the highest bidder like the ISPs are. They are not doing paid prioritization.
You should look up the definition of neutral because your understanding is wrong.
You have just lost a customer.
So, does this mean that you will provide access to Usenet now?
That’s a lot of word to be fabricating the facts.
Net Neutrality is about your and ISP’s pipes. NOT about what websites server or don’t server. You’re obfuscating the actual meaning of Net Neutrality and Your ignorance as a CEO will be bore out by all the analysis of your so called open letter.
Please, just shut up, and offer the services we care about, like FTTH/FTTN, that you’ve promised for years. I’m still waiting for AT&T Fiber to show up in my area to provide some much needed competition to the only other high-speed internet service provider. If you’d actually deliver what you’ve promised, I’d be more inclined to trust your sentiments as anything other than preventing competition.
The social media programs are obviously being manipulated by government agencies that are protecting themselves from public information. We need to protect ourselves from them.
we need an internet bill of rights that has accountability for user and provider i totally agree
Internet censorship must be stopped. Monopolies controlling our free speech need to be broken up. We are entering extreme left wing communist control if we do not stop this now.
Any opposing view not “liked” are having acct’s deleted without recourse by Southern Poverty Law Center new hires. Eric Schmidt is destroying our Constitution with his algorithms. We will fight to the end.
I fully support the Internet Bill Of Rights.
we especially Americans Have to have an internet bill or rights. We see how fast certain large corporations are working hard to dismantle our first amendment to our constitution and not nearly enough supposed lawmakers trying to impede them. We MUST have an internet bill of rights .This will be looked upon in the future as the magna carter of our day.
Thank you for pushing this issue because real info is being suppressed if it goes against the tyranny/shadow government/technocrats. In other words, if its pro america, pro individual thought, pro human, or patriot based its suppressed. No matter how many idiots and plants get on here cursing AT&T or label it “Net Neutrality” it doesn’t make it so. Everyone knows net neutrality was garbage so they use that as a trigger. But thank you for this effort, lets get it done! We need to push this out to inform more people.
We need an Internet Bill of Rights. We need protection for our freedom of speech in all aspects of our lives! Freedom!!!
