The following may be attributed to Joan Marsh, AT&T Executive Vice President of Regulatory and State External Affairs:

“AT&T appreciates the FCC’s ongoing efforts to remove inefficient and obsolete regulatory obligations.  As mobile communications have largely supplanted the once ubiquitous payphone, use of payphones and compensation to Payphone Service Providers (PSPs) has precipitously declined.  The Commission’s action today to eliminate the payphone annual audits and reporting requirements simply makes sense and is good policy.”
